Metrolink

Being a premier regional rail system, Metrolink offers commuter, passenger services which enables the common mass to reach in time to their places of employment as well as to the rare shopping malls, tourist spots etc.

Metrolink started serving in 1993 and enroutes a mileage of 507 miles in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura countries.

In 1991, it was established as
The Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA).

By 2003, metrolink had 38 locomotives and 143 commuter cars. The current trains are Bombardier BiLevel Coaches painted white with blue streaks.

The fares of the Metro are high. The trip ticket between Montclair and Downtown Los Angeles .50, compared with .00 for competing Foothill Transit express bus service. The monthly pass for the bus between the Palmdale Metrolink station and Los Angeles Union Station costs 0, compared to 0 on Metrolink. The highlighting factor is that the train offers more midday trips than the commuter bus lines.
