LADWP Light Festival

Holiday spirit, fun, frolic, magic and much more describes the LADWP festival. With glimmering lights and music , it adds a holiday mood in everyone's hearts. This three- week festival, sponsored by the Department of Water and Power, features holiday music, a miniature Hollywood Sign, decorations galore and brilliant light displays as far as the eye can see. Both admission and parking are free; however, be mindful that the large crowds can bring long waits so plan your visit accordingly.

This festival symbolizes LADWP's proud history of service to the people of the city. It is made possible through the generous support of the Department of Recreation and Parks, the Los Angeles Visitors and Convention Bureau (LA Inc.), the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, the Los Angeles Zoo, the Los Angeles World Airports, Museum of the American West, Automobile Club of Southern California, Hoy Newspaper and CalTrans.

The Holiday Light Festival began almost a decade ago, under the leadership of the late City Council President John Ferraro, who represented the 4th Council District, which included Griffith Park. Ferraro strongly supported the creation of the spectacular lighting display as a legacy holiday gift for the people of the City of Los Angeles.
